Jorge Canestri was President of the EPF from 2016 - 2020. He was an outstanding psychoanalytic scientist and practitioner who led the EPF internally with inspiration and prudence and represented it highly competently in international contacts with all his experience and knowledge. 
In Jorge Canestri we lose a universally esteemed, highly competent psychoanalyst whom we will miss extraordinarily. Nevertheless, he has left indelible traces in the development of contemporary psychoanalytic theory and practice, which will continue to point the way in the future.
